The Vevo LAZR : a crucial breakthrough for cancer research

Vevo LAZR photoacoustics system , a high-frequency ultrasound, pioneered by VisualSonics, enables researchers to study cancer in its initial stages of development and evaluate tumor growth. Also this will facilitate medical researchers to observe tumor biology, measure hypoxia (oxygen levels), evaluate changes in blood flow, and quantify data with unique software solutions in vivo and in ‘real time’. Therefore, this technology provides researchers with never-before-seen insights into the development of effective therapeutics for treating cancer.
Vevo LAZR utilizes a laser to send pulses of light through the skin into tissue and cells beneath the surface. The absorbed laser energy is then transformed into heat, producing an ultrasonic emission, which can be encapsulated and converted into images using a specially adapted high frequency ultrasonic probe. This helps to look through the inner workings of the living cancerous cell and the host tissue in which it resides, and greatly facilitate our understanding of how cancer spreads from the micro to the macro level, giving unmatched insights into how tumors develop and metastasize within human tissue.

No escape for the speeders.

You don’t have that much of time to learn to become a good driver. Typical radar system can track only one vehicle at a time. Newest redder technology “Cordon” multi-target photo-radar system can track 32 cars on 4 lanes of traffic.  This camera can track each license plate and the speed of the car.  You will see this on the roads starting Q2, 2012. Are ready for this?

Key Features and Benefits:
·         Advanced radar simultaneously measures speeds and positions of all oncoming and outgoing targets in control area. It provides a strict correspondence between measured speed and the vehicle marked on multi-target image.
·         Speed sensor provides a control area including up to 4 traffic lanes.
Automatic detection of reserved bus (or taxi) lane violations with advanced license plate recognition system
·         Automatic detection of driving on the wrong side of the road.
·         Automatic saving of violation data on SD memory card installed in speed sensor.
·         Night time operation using integrated IR spotlights.
On-board GPS/GLONASS navigation unit downloads the GPS/GLONASS coordinates to the violation record.
·         Data encryption and protection of software and output file prevents tampering with data and compromising of evidence.
·         User-friendly touch-screen display for easy initial setup and deployment of the unit.
·         Option to continuously stream captured traffic violation data to a centralized database using wired or wireless communication channels (VPN channel over 3G, WiMAX, Wi-Fi). This minimizes back office processing effort and eliminates the possibility of lost or damaged physical media.
·         Optional wireless diagnostic channel for remote servicing of speed sensor.

Next Generation Gaming controller

A new innovation of gaming is at your door step now. Nintendo Wii was the first to introduce motion controls in a video game few years ago. Then Microsoft introduced an advanced Kinect Controller to the video gaming arena. Today, Medibotics achieved the patent rights to unveil their latest developed Motion Recognition Clothing (MRC) to the market , which will lead the way in motion controls. MRC will translate body motion  into computer–readable signals.
MRC can be applied in sports training, medical therapy, virtual exercise, weight management, telerobotic and it can also see action in virtual reality settings. This can integrate air-filled or fluid-filled tubes into clothing that longitudinally spans multiple body joints, where changes in pressure within these tubes will be used to measure the motion of these body joints.

Homeland Security moves forward with 'pre-crime' detection

Will the “Person of Interest” the TV series will be the future of crime prevention. DHS is in the process of developing the futuristic crime prevention program call Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST).  Currently DHS employees are been used as the test subjects. The way this system operates is buy measuring pulse rate, skin temperature, breathing, facial expression, body movement, pupil dilation, and other physiological/behavioral patterns. The intention of this technology was to prevent unknown terrorists and mostly be used at airports and other high security areas. What If this technology was implemented to monitor general public like what we saw on the TV series or the movie “Minority Report”.  If this technology is used to monitor public, this will bring a different prospective of big-data, analytics and Fuzzy logic to all of us.

Car Hacking Made Easier By New Technology

Back in the 80’s KITT was a dream car for all of us and today we have cars almost like KITT. With the latest and the greatest technological advancement our cars can talk, can give us directions, we can give instruction to the car and it can park by itself.  Also we can control our cars remotely like shutting the engine off and other functions. This is all nice and cool but have you given any thought to what’s enabling us to do all this and how this technology can put our life’s in danger.
We are aware of the vulnerabilities that can be exploited in our home computers and work computers. What about the same thing happening to your car. Our cars are constantly connected to the internet via WIFI, Bluetooth and navigation systems. So it is just a matter of time till the hackers start break in to our automobile computer system and take control.

Taxing the Virtual World . . .And Beyond

Hello everyone, this is my first blog post.  I am looking forward to improve my skills around blogging. Check this article out Interesting way to look at the virtual world in the future.
As we roam around the virtual word every day and we leave our foot print everywhere we go in a virtual world. Question is who owns this space we are leaving our foot print and should we get taxed on the utilization of the virtual world.
